PRICE: £119.99 REDUCED TO £89.99 in our Sale
Limited Special Forces Edition: Our MWC G10 SL MKV is currently the highest specification G10 specification military watch available and is also the only military grade stainless steel PVD self luminous infantry watch watch in production because all alternative models are made from a variety of composite materials.
Our G10 SL MKV also retains the battery hatch which has been discarded by other G10 manufacturers such as CWC. The battery hatch is a very usefull feature which saves considerable expense when a replacement battery is needed. This new model combines the best of both new and old technology. It keeps all the popular features from the older conventional models and employs the same solid steel case whilst having the benefit of the cutting edge self luminous tritium vials. The actual specification of this watch was dictated by American Military Specification Number: US MIL-W-46374F. The big advantage of the MWC is that unlike the Traser or Nite models it is solid metal and not made from lightweight plastic or carbon fibre.
The self luminous system makes the watch very easy to read at night and the MKIV has a very distinctive face layout. The hour and minute hands each have a brightly glowing vial of Tritium gas with 2 lights at 12 o'clock which is a feature unique to MWC. Whilst the vials contain radioactive gas even when thay are all taken together they contain less than the personal limit of 25 millicuries. (see U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations 10 CFR 30.15.).
Military watches of this type are the easiest in the world to read in low light or total darkness — thanks to a self-activated light source they is 100 times brighter than traditional light sources such as tritium paint. The light-emitting devices require no battery power or any other form of charging, and never need servicing or maintenance. The life expectancy of the light sources is 10 years after which they would start to deteriorate.
The standard MWC G10 is one of the most tried and tested models and in its earlier variants has been in service for over 16 years this new model shares a similar casing and whilst upgraded will be just as durable or maybe even more so.
The G10 SL MKIV is supplied with a heavyweight NATO webbing strap.
The back of the case bears various military markings.
